I liked this guy the first time I saw The Hobbit. I liked The Hat. Then I discovered... so did every other fangirl. The web filled with fangirl fotos of random ushankas (earflappy hats), some found, some made, of knit, of sheep, of polyester. Patterns abounded. I commandeered a few, found a sheepskin that was doing nothing more than covering a litterbox...

Yep, I'll make that in  my copious free time. After I fix the holes in the van and finish a few art projects...

Went to Tractor Supply (definitely run by Hobbits and Dwarves) for dog stuff, food, shavings, etc. Pass shelf of leftover winter hats. Multiple earflappy style things. Hmmmm. $14. Nah. Making one. Get dog stuff. Pass shelf again...

Hat: (precioussssssssss)
Me:  (sled dog commands to self) On-by... on-by...
Hat: (buyyyyyyyyyy meeeeeeeee)
Me:...

Me at register: "You know, these things should be on sale or something by now, it's nearly the end of winter...."
Register girl: "They are.... $9."

I keep seeing brilliant photos taken by young women with cell phones, yeah, just hold up the phone and "snick". Here's proof that I am definitely from the non-cellphone generation.... even though I used my mighty fine Nikon Coolpix L100. The dogs didn't help much either.

The Hat definitely keeps your ears warm...
