I got this 1983 Ford Econoline van from a friend. It had been a dog van, a handicapped van, and was registered as a "motor home". It sucked gas like a dragon, had multiple layers of carpet (insulating the interior from noise and heat and cold), no radio, broken air conditioning (the 2-50 still worked... roll the windows down and drive 50), and I learned the fine art of Bondo, spray paint, and Rustoleum from it. Two action figures, Legolas and Gimli, served as "figureheads", decor included a Captain Jack Sparrow poster, a pirate flag, Little Mermaid curtains, lines to hang wet gear on, brooms to sweep out sand and dog hair, extra bug spray, and a few totem animals (Safari models) and seashells found along the way. "Fearaf" (Wolf Spirit in Tolkien's Elvish languages) carried kayaks and sled dogs and dive gear, served as camper and bird blind, and took me and friends to the ends of the earth... in 2013, he finally succumbed to rust cancer with no Dwarves handy to reforge him. Here's a few shots of our voyages...
