Autumn Run on Wheels
On the second day of November the weather in southcentral PA is cool enough for another run. The weather behind us has been randomly warm and cool and frosty. The shade cloths are still up in the kennels and the so is the wading pool. The weather forecast for this week claims it will go up to the 70s.
Maybe I shouldn't have put the kayak away just yet...
Lynn Browne and her team of German Shorthair Pointers (rescues) borrow two of my harnesses and the three wheeled rig and I take my bike and a spare harness for Denali. Leggy has only one harness that fits, a big H-back, and that is the only one that fits Hank (on Lynn's team), so I finagle a carting harness for Leggy. I wouldn't run him on the rig in the carting harness (like a walking harness, not pulling from the correct points), but I can pedal the bike, it is light, and the dogs really won't need to pull. (I have also run dogs on the bike in just collars, while I pedal enough to just keep the line stretched up).
We set out from Hanover Junction on the York County Park System's Rail Trail under confused fall leaves.
Is it still summer?
