I read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective tales back in the dark ages of the 70s... or was it the 80s?
The things that stuck in my head were the snake that came when called (the Speckled Band), the ginormous Lion's Mane jellyfish that was the instrument of murder, and a dog that glowed in the dark. And the clop clop of Hansom cabs through gaslit streets. Sherlock and Watson have been reincarnated multiple times since Sir Arthur wrote those Victorian tales: most recently as Robert (Iron man) Downey Jr. and Jude Law, and Benedict (Smaug, that villain in Star Trek 2, the guy on the black horse in Warhorse) Cumberbatch and Martin (Bilbo, Pirate With a Scarf, BAFTA winner, Arthur Dent) Freeman. Here are a few odes to some of my favorites...

According to Mycroft, Sherlock wanted to be a pirate. "Watson" voiced the Pirate With a Scarf in Aardman's "Pirates: Adventures With Scientists (Band of Misfits)". Their pics, my meme.
