Otterlock and Hedgejawn
Someone in fandom posted a meme (left) of various otters with the exact same expressions as the gloriously expressive Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC Sherlock, Smaug in Hobbit, that villain guy in Star Trek, and the Guy on the Black Horse in Warhorse). This was followed by a series of hedgehogs (right) with the same expressions as the wonderful Martin Freeman (Bilbo, Watson, Arthur Dent in Hitchhiker's Guide, and The Pirate With A Scarf in Aardman's animated epic). This was followed by various comics, cartoons, memes and my discovery that collecting animal figures is useful. |
I already had a few otters and hedgehogs. (I've wrangled otters for a wildlife rehabber, been bitten through 6mil dive gloves, and met at least one hedgehog pet). The addition of a thrift shop sweater ("jumper" for you British fans of BBC Sherlock) with a hole in it, and Otterlock and Hedgejawn took shape.
